In Good Company is a hosted culture game. To play, you share a first name and a few fun answers, and optionally a photo. We use that only to run the game and produce a recap for your team. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we never send your personal answers to any AI. Your host can delete the whole game and everything in it at any time. You can ask us to access or delete your information using the contact below.
In Good Company ("the Service") is operated by Berry App Labs ("we," "us"). This policy explains what personal information the Service collects, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have.
The Service is usually run for a team by a host, often on behalf of an employer or event organizer. Where an organization arranges a game for its people, that organization decides why and how the game is used, and acts as the data controller. In those cases we act as a data processor, handling information under the organization's instructions and any agreement between us. Where you use the Service directly, we act as the controller.

We ask for as little as possible. There is no account and no password to create, and we do not ask for your email, phone number, or any special-category information (such as health, religion, or political views) to play.
Some editions invite you to upload a photo, for example a baby photo of yourself, your pet, or a costume. Photos are optional. When you add one, your device shrinks it to a small image before it is sent, and it is stored as part of your answers. Photos are shown to the host for review, on the big screen during the game, and in the recap. Please only upload images you have the right to share, and do not upload images of other people, or of minors, without their consent (or a parent's or guardian's consent). We do not use photos for facial recognition or to create any biometric identifier.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent, which you give by choosing to join and share; the performance of a contract to provide the game; and our and the host's legitimate interests in running a culture activity and improving it, balanced against your rights. Where an employer or organizer arranges the game, they determine the lawful basis for involving their people and we process on their behalf. You can withdraw consent or object at any time using the contact below.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use a small number of service providers ("sub-processors") to run the Service, and they may process information only to provide their service to us:
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer, with notice where required. When a game is run for an organization, that organization (the host and their company) can see the answers shared in their game.
We keep a game's information for as long as the game exists so the host can run it and revisit the recap. A recap can be set by the host to expire, for example after one week. A host can delete a game at any time, which permanently removes that game's players, answers, guesses, and photos. If you would like your information removed sooner, contact us or your host, and we will delete it, subject to any legal retention we are required to keep.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; receive a copy in a portable form; and withdraw consent. If you are a California resident, you may request to know, delete, or correct your personal information, and you have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law, so there is nothing to opt out of.
To exercise any right, contact us using the details below, or ask your host, who can usually remove your information from their game directly. We will respond within the time the law requires. We may need to verify your request.
Our providers store and process information in the United States. If you are outside the United States, your information will be transferred there. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.
The Service is designed for workplaces and adult participants and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Photo prompts are meant for images of yourself or your own pet. Please do not use the Service to collect information from, or upload images of, a child without appropriate consent.
The Service does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking, and it does not build a profile of you across sites. It uses only the small, functional values stored on your own device that are listed above. Because there are no non-essential cookies, there is no cookie banner to click through.
We use reputable providers and reasonable measures to protect information, including access controls on the database. Game data is reached only through a single controlled interface, and the host holds a private key for their game. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let hosts know.
